Happy New year to all. We are all geared up for an active new year full of activities from cultural to technical. As for NSS we plan many activities like campaign against use of plastic and popularisation of alternatives like paper bags. We plan a cultural festival called Garland. All volunteers in our college are in good spirits after a wonderful and memorable special camp of 10 days. We, glugc (GNU/Linux users group Calicut) have planned a FLOSS (Free/Libre nad Open Source Software) technologies conference in our campus. Today we met our teacher
Suresh Kumar
and had a live discussion on FLOSS and other related topics. What inspired me to update today was Dilpu’s Blog. I hope to continue updating it in the coming year.
New year wishes for all.

I’m alive!

Hello I am back after a delay of some months I am updating my blog. I hope I will update it frequently. The reason for this delay was placements. It had a happy end with me got placed in HP GDIC (Hewlett – Packard Global Delivery India center, formerly Digital global soft). Now one more year left in college (I hope so, I don’t want to go to higher studies unless it is something to do with computers). Now I missed lot of classes and its time for our second sessionals and I hope to give a better fight this time. NSS activities are also quite fine. All are geared up for the special camp which come after the main exams, that will be end of November. Bye for now.

A tight but good time over

Today I got my exams over and feel really relaxed. It was a tough time but it was the I got my lost interests in learning back. Got many plans for the vacation. I would like spent some time reading books, meet friends, spent some tome on comp ( Even though exams were there every day I used to spent 3 to 4 hours on net ! But there was pressure in me ). I’ll do some programming and I got to prepare for the placements. The time ahead is going to be very much different from the time I spent till this time ( a long 20 years ). Now it is time to face the real life. It is so close only months away.

It was ironical that the exam time we had heavy rain taking into consideration that our college advanced the exams due to fear of lack of water. Though we were a bunch of guys left in the hostel after everyone were back home after regular exams ( We have got supplies ) it was really a different experience since I spent most of the day studying ( when I think of the semester I didn’t even spent 10 minutes a day! )

It was during exam time I finds something interesting to do ( other than studies ) like in first year I completed my website during exams this time I spent a lot of time in spymac with discussions and reading a lotta stuff relating open source and linux.

Ok I am going to stop it for now.
Two more days I’ll be in college and I’ll leave for home after that.

bye

Bit relieved today

With the Electrical Engineering exam got over and three days off till next exam made me feel bit relieved. Drawing was my least favorite subject. After tenth everyone insisted me to take Biology but I didn’t fell to anyone’s temptations and took Maths, which was my favorite during school days.

Now as a electrical engineering undergraduate, I don’t like much of the subjects where we have to study every branch’s courses with mechanical, civil, electronics and what not. My friend and roommate Sagil James used to tease me with his version of our branch as ‘electrical and electronics and mechanical and production and architectural and …. engineering’.

Anyway some more exams to come and then about three moths vacation I hope read some books. Any suggetions ?

Some news about techonolgy. Indian Institute of Mathematical Sciences ( IIMSc) announced their new supercomputer running linux and it is india’s second fastest only next to intel’s cluster at Bangalore. It is called Kabru, the peak in the Himalayas which nobody climbed yet.

I guess that’s all for now.
